The Paris Bourse ended on balance Monday (-0.08%), opting for the wait-and-see policy amidst many questions about the intentions of the US Federal Reserve on its key rates.

The CAC 40 index lost 4.53 points to 5,589.19 points, in a low trading volume of 2.4 billion euros. Friday, he had ended down 0.48%.

The Paris index opened in the red and after much hesitation ended stable.

"The day was very calm on a market that is especially in the expectation of the decision of the US Federal Reserve" July 30 and 31, said AFP Régis Aubert, equity manager at Financière Arbevel.

And after the report on employment in the United States released Friday, "there is uncertainty about the extent of the decline in key rates," he added.

Job creation in the United States rose sharply in June, while the unemployment rate edged up to 3.7% (+0.1 point), where analysts expected a lower performance that would have justified more more accommodating attitude of the Fed.

In this context, "so-called growth stocks, ie those with growth higher than economic activity in general, such as L'Oréal or Pernod Ricard, are in demand," noted Aubert.

More globally "weights in the market, starting with the Sino-US trade dispute have eased." The meeting between the presidents of the United States and China has not led to much, but as the worst is not sure, "the markets are less concerned for the moment, said Mr Aubert.

On the indicators side, the Bank of France revised down 0.1 point on Monday its growth forecast for the second quarter, to 0.2%, and Germany recorded in May a trade surplus of 18.6 billion euros. euros, slightly higher than in April.
