About it reports RIA Novosti with reference to the draft statement of the State Duma, published in the website of the lower house of parliament.

“In connection with the continuation of unfriendly actions, the State Duma recommends the Government of the Russian Federation to consider the expediency of applying special economic measures against Georgia,” the text says.

It is noted that such actions are provided for by the Federal Law of December 30, 2006 No. 281-ФЗ.

Earlier, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin said that the lower house of parliament would appeal to the government with a request to ban deliveries of wine and water from Georgia to Russia, as well as to block remittances against the backdrop of the situation with Rustavi 2 TV channel Georgy Gabunia.
