It is this Tuesday, July 9th that the National Committee of investiture (CNI) of the Republic in progress (LREM) audition candidates for the inauguration in Paris. It is a priori the last step before the official designation of one who will wear the colors of the presidential party for municipal in the capital, scheduled Wednesday. They are only three in the running: Benjamin Griveaux, the favorite in his side highly contested, Cedric Villani, his main challenger who joined Mounir Mahjoubi, and Hugues Renson, the MP for Paris who still hopes to shake the odds.

They are three, but it is the duel between Benjamin Griveaux and Cédric Villani which attracts all the attention. Hugues Renson, who remains in competition despite everything, himself took note when he said he was worried about seeing " two trains launched against each other ".

It is true that they have surrendered for the last few days. Cédric Villani struck hard by garnering the support of two candidates, Mounir Mahjoubi and Anne Lebreton. Benjamin Griveaux retaliated by displaying that of 34 elected Paris and the last candidate for the nomination, Antonio Duarte.

A tense internal end of the campaign that has mainly shown that Benjamin Griveaux, the former spokesman of the government, failed to kill the game. He even focused on him criticisms and suspicions of being the nominee in advance because of his proximity to the boss of the Republic on the march Stanislas Guerini and the head of state whose shadow hovers over the designation process, even though officially it is the National Nominating Commission that decides. A CNI whose two leaders were received at the Élysée last Friday.

The verdict is scheduled for Wednesday unless it was urgent to wait. In this case, a party executive agrees, it would be a " bad sign " for Benjamin Griveaux.
