With our correspondent in Kiev, Sébastien Gobert

" Our challenge is to preserve the pro-European spirit in Ukraine, and the pro-Ukrainian spirit in Europe ". Poland's Donald Tusk had just returned from a trip with President Volodymyr Zelensky to the eastern frontline. Back in Kiev, he reaffirmed his unwavering support for " Russian aggression ". A series of European sanctions has just been extended for six months.

This solidarity is important as Ukrainians cry treason since Russia was reinstated in the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, a separate institution located in Strasbourg.

Europeans also support Ukraine in its goal of European integration. Five financial agreements were signed in Kiev to help decentralization, civil society, the implementation of the Association Agreement, the reconstruction of the East at war and the fight against corruption .

The fight against corruption is particularly sensitive and conditions 500 million additional aid. The reforms promised by the new President Zelensky in Kiev will therefore be scrutinized with great attention, until the 22nd EU-Ukraine summit next year.
