According to him, the first acquaintance of politicians took place in the early 2000s, when Medvedchuk held the position of Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada, and Putin for the first time became the President of Russia.
“Then I became the head of the administration, I maintained relations with the head of the administration, Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, I also met with Mr. Putin,” Medvedchuk’s statement to RIA Novosti on the program “Characters with Nailya Asker-zade.”
Medvedchuk also said that the idea to offer Putin to become the godfather of his daughter in 2004 belonged to his wife.
