Tarbaev noted that he was ready for such a proposal from the acting head of Kalmykia, Batu Hasikov, and was interviewed by the regional administration.
“Everything now depends on coordination at the level of the Council of the Federation, at the level of the presidential administration, it already depends on how my work and I evaluate it. But at this stage I am pleased that the head of Kalmykia supports me, ”ex-KVN player told RIA Novosti.
At the same time, he said, the possible receipt of a new status is not its main goal.
“For me, status is not the goal itself. Of course, this gives certain opportunities in terms of lobbying the interests of the republic and attracting investments. But I still do it, I help the republic and will do it in any status, ”he said.
In particular, Tarbaev reported on his negotiations on the creation of industrial enterprises in Kalmykia and the solution of energy, environmental and agricultural problems.
Earlier, RBC, citing sources, reported that Khasikov intended to nominate Tarbaeva to the senators from the republic.
