The deputy of Vendée, Patricia Gallerneau (Modem), died Sunday, announced in a statement the prefect of the department, Benoît Brocart.
"It is with great sadness that Benoît Brocart (...) today learned of the death of Patricia Gallerneau, member of the Vendée", according to the prefecture.
"The prefect wishes to express to his family and all his relatives segallerneaus more sincere condolences and sympathy," reads the statement.
Born in Paris in 1954, Mrs. Gallerneau, retired from the public service, not teaching, had been elected MP in 2017. She was a member of the Committee on Sustainable Development and Regional Planning in the National Assembly.
Ms. Gallerneau was also Regional Advisor of Pays-de-la-Loire and Councilor of Pornichet (Loire-Atlntique).
