According to press reports, the Department of Management of the German Ministry of Defense sold computers used by ordinary people, with sensitive military information.

Some of this information relates to the operation of the German Missile Roll, known as "March", and photographs of the relatives of former officers of the German army. This information was not cleared before the devices were put up for sale.

Details of the sale and nature of the information were reported in the Süddeutsche and the Spiegel Online.

The Ministry of Defense has reduced the seriousness of the matter, arguing that leaked information is classified at the lowest level of confidentiality.

The story went public when a forest administrator in Bavaria in 2018 put four of these devices on the Internet.

According to reports, the suspect accidentally discovered the seriousness of the sensitive information contained in these devices after he managed to open one of them by guessing the password. He has restored one organ to the ministry and the others have already sold it.

The Süd-Deutsche newspaper learned of the sale of another used computer in 2016, which was also owned by the German Ministry of Defense without surveying its contents.
