"There are urgent measures to take now: Mr. Castaner [the Minister of the Interior, ed] can mobilize all police stations," said Anne-Cécile Mailfert, president of the Women's Foundation. "But there are also measures in the longer term, because violence against women is a societal problem.A request for a grenelle of violence in September with all actors, all ministers."

"If it were men who died every three days ..."

In addition to the singer Yael Naim and actresses Julie Gayet, companion of former President François Hollande, and Muriel Robin, many men also attended the rally, a sign of an awareness shared by both sexes according to Jacques, interviewed by Europe 1. "I sometimes feel ashamed of being a man," he breathes. "If it were the opposite, if it were men who died every three days, we would have already taken relentless measures."

The protester is pleased that things are "moving" now. "For a long time, it was believed that these were just individual issues, passionate love, all that shit, and here the public authorities start thinking that something should be done."
