Felix Auger-Aliassime has finally won a match in a Grand Slam tournament: the young Canadian, 18, won Monday in the first round of Wimbledon against his compatriot Vasek Pospisil 5-7, 6-2, 6-4 , 6-3.

It was the second attempt by Felix Auger-Aliassime (21st in the world) after losing his first round to fellow US Open 2018 contender Denis Shapovalov.

But this time, the prodigy, who was at the 106th place at the beginning of the year and found himself head of series N.18 at Wimbledon, did not miss the opportunity despite the loss of the first set.

Pospisil was playing his first match in competition since his back surgery at the end of 2018. But, against the Stuttgart finalist and semifinalist Queen's, the march was too high.

Felix Auger-Aliassime will face in the second round the winner of the match between Grigor Dimitrov and Corentin Moutet.
