The medical team at Tawam Hospital, in partnership with Johns Hopkins Medical, one of the facilities of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA), has successfully treated five cases of conjunctivitis.

Dr. Huda Saif Al Dhahri, Consultant Corneal and Correction Consultant, said that patients underwent complete and successful surgical removal of tumors, with eye surface restoration, and some were treated with the latest antirephrine chemical treatments.

Conjunctivitis is one of the rare tumors of the eye. Studies have not found the direct causes of this type of tumor, but it is believed that exposure to high levels of sunlight, ultraviolet light, smoking, immune disorders, and light-skinned people may be more susceptible to such tumors.

"Most tumors that affect the surface or the bottom of the eye do not have symptoms that are urgent or obvious, but the eye doctor's examination helps in the early diagnosis of such cases."
