#LIVE: #HongKong police throwing gas after protesters throw eggs

- SCMP News (@SCMPNews) July 1, 2019

Earlier, a crowd of protesters broke into the legislative chamber of Hong Kong after many hours of protest near the building. The rioters smashed the glass elements of the building and began to tear off the metal trim elements.

The British Foreign Ministry supported the right of Hong Kong residents to protest, and the European Union called on protesters to show restraint.

The unrest is taking place against the backdrop of demands not to adopt amendments to the law on extradition, which will allow the transfer of criminals and suspects to the mainland of China in the event of a request.
