According to Xinhua, the incident occurred on Friday evening at a plant in the city of Bengbu.
It is noted that one of the company's employees was stuck while cleaning the tank for storing substances. During the rescue operation, the tank exploded, killing a worker and one fireman on the spot and injuring nine other rescuers.
Earlier it was reported that at least six people were killed in an explosion at the Xumei Biotech plant in the Chinese province of Henan.
