As TASS reports, Putin on Wednesday, June 26, held a meeting in Moscow with Yevkurov, who told the president about the results of his work for 11 years and personally asked for his resignation.

“I will ask you to give the new leader everything that has been gained in the positive lately, to keep up to date and help in the first days of work,” Putin said.

On June 24, Yevkurov, who headed Ingushetia since 2008, announced his intention to resign ahead of schedule.

In the Kremlin, commenting on this decision, they noted that the appeal will be promptly considered by the head of state.
