The government wants to act more effectively against pollution peaks in Paris. According to information from Franceinfo, the Ministry of Ecological Transition plans to automate the triggering of differentiated traffic in the capital and increase the number of vehicles banned from traveling in case of peaks of pollution to fine particles.
Thus, when the fine particle pollution warning threshold is reached, differentiated traffic will be triggered automatically. As Franceinfo recalls, until now, a decision of the prefecture was necessary to trigger it. The threshold, calculated by Airparif, is 80 micrograms per cubic meter of air for 24 hours, or more than 50 micrograms for 48 hours.
Only thumbnails 0 to 2 will be able to roll
Another change, while currently, in case of alternate traffic, vehicles with a vignette Crit'Air numbered from 0 to 3 can circulate, the Ministry plans to reserve this authorization thumbnails 0 to 2.
