Most acutely in schools there is a shortage of teachers of mathematics. The shortage of teachers with this specialization was stated by 34% of respondents.

More than a third (32%) of those surveyed said that schools lacked foreign language teachers. A quarter said the lack of teachers of the Russian language.

The deficit of primary school teachers was reported by 24% of respondents. The shortage of physics teachers was noted by 18% of respondents.

About half of the teachers surveyed reported a shortage of teachers in general, noted in the ONF.

The survey also showed that about 18% of teachers today think about leaving school. Most teachers attribute this to low wages, a growing volume of tasks and pressure from the school administration and parents.

More than 3 thousand teachers from 83 regions of the country took part in the survey.

The results of the survey, along with data on average salaries of teachers and teachers' expectations from the implementation of the national project "Education", will be sent by experts to the Ministry of Education of Russia and regional education authorities, the ONF said.

In February of this year, during a message to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed launching the Zemsky Teacher program from 2020. When moving to the villages and small towns of the country, teachers will receive a lump sum payment in the amount of 1 million rubles.
