Andy Murray, teaming with Spaniard Feliciano Lopez, also a singles winner, has made a remarkable comeback by winning the doubles at the Queen's grass tournament, defeating Rajeev Ram and Joe Salisbury, 7-6 (8/6), 5-7, 10/5, in the final, Sunday in London. Before a return in simple end of August?

The 32-year-old Scotsman, winner of three Grand Slam tournaments, made his comeback on Thursday in the first round of doubles after six months of absence following a hip operation.

"It was great, I really enjoyed it, I started the week off, and then my competitive spirit developed as the matches progressed," Murray said after the final.

"My hip did not hurt, it feels good to find the courts," said the Scot.

Murray, former world N.1, will be present at Wimbledon, which he will play in doubles, associated with the French Pierre-Hugues Herbert. And if he has not yet set a date for a return to singles, he hinted that he could "potentially" replay at the US Open in late August.

"But I do not care, in any case It would be nice to play the US Open, but (...) I do not have to be there, be competitive or even win for fun", continued Murray, already pleased to have "so much happiness after a first double round here" in London.

"It's not just about going back to singles, it's about protecting my hip in the long run," he added.

Earlier, Lopez (37) won the singles final with a win over Frenchman Gilles Simon.
