US Secretary of State Pompeii said he hoped that President Trump's letter to Kim Jong-il would be a good basis for resuming negotiations with North Korea, Reuters reported.

Pompei said the US is ready to resume negotiations immediately, referring to "a fairly high likelihood" based on North Korea's reaction to whether North Korea's talks will resume soon.

As a result, there is a strong interest in North America, which has been stalled since the second summit of the North American Summit, will soon face the table.

Pompei told reporters on his visit to the Middle East that he hopes to provide a good foundation for the prospects to continue important discussions with the North for the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula.

Pompei said North Korea is resuming negotiations with North Korea soon, saying, "I think there is a fairly high possibility of a North Korean statement."

It seems to be a statement based on the report of North Korean official media that Kim received the letter of President Trump.

"If North Korea shows that it is ready for such discussions, we are literally ready to start right now," he said.
