According to him, this is a huge problem.
“This is aggravated by the fact that our society has become, to a large extent, a consumer society,” Putin said.
He added that there is a new packaging, a lot of plastic.
"In the Pacific, entire islands the size of a middle European country formed," said the president of Russia.
He also commented on the situation with the growth of tariffs.
"Nobody ever considered how much garbage collection costs ...," Putin said.
However, he stressed that the issue of the level of tariffs for garbage collection requires additional testing and careful consideration.
