British police on Wednesday arrested a 64-year-old man from Yorkshire in the north of England on suspicion of manslaughter in the case of the death of Argentinean footballer Emiliano Sala, who was on the run.

The police refused to give more details about the identity of the suspect, who was released after being held in police custody but is still cooperating with the investigation.

Inspector Simon Huxter called in a statement to avoid any "speculation, which would cause further distress to the families" of the victims "and could potentially hinder the investigation," still "under way".

The 28-year-old forward was to fulfill his dream of playing in the Premier League, having been transferred from FC Nantes to Cardiff (Wales) in January. But he died a few days later, on January 21, when a small plane crashed into the Welsh capital, which crashed into the English Channel.

His body was located on the wreckage of the aircraft, 67 meters deep, and recovered on February 7, while that of the pilot of the aircraft, David Ibbotson, 59, was not found . The first elements of the investigation conducted by the British justice had concluded a death following "head and trunk injuries".

In February, the British Air Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) determined that the aircraft carrying Emiliano Sala was not allowed to operate commercial flights.

According to information from the BBC, the pilot of the aircraft was not entitled to fly at night because he was color-blind and his license did not have the "night flight rating". Asked by AFP, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) did not confirm this information, saying only that "the investigation of the AAIB was in progress".

Two people suspected of having broadcast on a social network a photo taken at the mortuary of the body of Sala must also appear on July 10 before the court of Swindon (south-west of England).

Sherry Bray, 48, is being prosecuted for computer crime for obstructing the course of justice and sending an indecent or offensive message. Christopher Ashford, 62, is being prosecuted for computer crime.

The police did not specify how the suspects were able to obtain the images.

The body of Emiliano Sala was repatriated in February in Argentina. Parents, friends, emissaries of Nantes, Bordeaux and Cardiff, inhabitants ... They were hundreds who came to bow, cry, put a hand on the coffin of the footballer in Progreso, the Argentine village of 3,000 inhabitants who has seen growing up.

Because in Progreso, we remember "Emi" by bicycle, his jogging, his goals. When he scored in the championship of France, the constant challenge was to find a video of the goal action.

His father, Horacio, died at the end of April at a heart attack at home, at the age of 58 years.
