Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched a project to support 5,000 villas of the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment (PSC) with photovoltaic solar systems, energy-saving lamps and free water supply.

The project, which is being implemented and managed by the Union of Energy Services (IESCO), owned by DEWA, ​​is scheduled to be completed by the end of December, according to Ali Al Jassim, CEO of Al Ittihad. The project is spread over nine areas in Dubai, denying the validity of what was raised by some, about the project's inclusion of all citizens' villas.

Jassim explained that the project aims to support the villas benefiting 65 thousand solar panels, 295 thousand light bulbs energy saving, in addition to 50 thousand providers of water consumption, noting that the project launched by the Commission.

He said that since the beginning of this year, the company has worked to identify the villas benefiting from the project, and has continued with the owners to allow the company to enter and install the devices, and this began at the beginning of this month.

He said that the large project, implemented by the Authority, would provide energy consumption in the villas targeted more than five million dirhams annually. It called on homeowners to participate in the pilot initiative to save energy and water and make Dubai one of the most sustainable cities in the world.
