“Ukrainian politicians, unfortunately, are famous for their inadequate statements, which are hardly perceived not only in Russia, but also in Europe. To this we are not used to. As for the return of Russia to PACE, it is beneficial, first of all, to the Europeans, ”Morozov said.

The deputy noted that it was the European representatives who raised questions about the need to restart the negotiation process and sit down at the negotiating table.

“Russia has enough other multilateral formats where we can build a dialogue with all countries to which we have an interest. Also, do not forget the fact that our country is the largest donor for this Parliamentary Assembly. And, in the event that Russia does not pay contributions, there will be a financial crisis in PACE, which can lead to a complete degradation of the organization’s work and, possibly, to the cessation of its activities, ”he said.

Earlier, Aryev compared the situation around the possible return of Russia to PACE with the situation in Europe on the eve of World War II.

According to him, Ukraine will make every effort to prevent the “destructive scenario for the Council of Europe”.
