This is stated in a joint statement by Russian President Vladimir Putin and PRC Chairman Xi Jinping, adopted as a result of their meeting in Moscow.

The document says that Washington’s decision to withdraw from the INF Treaty can undermine strategic stability, increase the atmosphere of tension and distrust, reduce predictability in the nuclear missile sphere, and also lead to an arms race and increasing conflict potential in many regions of the world.

"Russia and China are in favor of resolving disagreements between the parties to the INF Treaty by maintaining dialogue and consultation, restoring the viability of the INF Treaty and preventing events from following the above scenario," the TASS statement quotes.

It is indicated that Russia and China plan to maintain a close dialogue and coordinate their approaches on this issue.

Earlier, Putin introduced to the State Duma a bill on the suspension of the INF. US President Donald Trump announced his desire to conclude a new agreement instead of the existing agreement.

Military expert Vladimir Prokhvatilov, in an interview with NSN, assessed the situation.
