"The airport management is strongly recommended to quickly establish all technological processes of servicing and handling baggage and, if necessary, to increase the number of qualified personnel in all problem areas," TASS cites the statement of the ministry employee.

Russian Transport Minister Yevgeny Dietrich also announced his readiness to discuss the issue of personal responsibility of Sheremetyev’s employees for failures in the baggage claim system at the next meeting of the airport’s board of directors.

Earlier, General Director Sheremetyeva Mikhail Vasilenko spoke about the change in technological processes in the maintenance and handling of goods.

“We reworked technology ... We felt that some calculations need to be corrected. Because the volume of baggage has changed, ”he said.

According to him, in connection with this airport requires more staff.

At the same time Vasilenko denied the information about the mass dismissals of movers.

He also confirmed that at present the problem is localized and the airport is operating normally.

“I can confidently say that there will be no failures within a month,” concluded the head of the airport.

From June 1, the media reported delays in baggage delivery and dispatch, which are observed on some Sheremetyevo flights.

The press service of the airport previously attributed the delay to the peak load in the high tourist season.
