According to him, Tehran has completely switched to self-sufficiency in the defense industry and has a unique set of rocket systems capable of hitting mobile targets.

"The armed forces of Iran are self-sufficient, the defense industry provides them with military vehicles, missiles, combat aircraft and UAVs," the Al Alam television channel quotes the military commander.

In addition, Iran continues to work on long-range, medium and short-range missiles, while possessing the largest arsenal of ballistic missiles in the Middle East.

“Only a few states have such complexes, which were developed 12 years ago,” Salami stressed.

The Iranian general also noted the progress in the development of the country's naval forces and spoke about the first military experience in building fighters.

Earlier, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stated that the country was not interested in possessing nuclear weapons.
