The ministry noted that during the event, some aspects of the economic part of the “deal of the century” will be touched upon, including the mobilization of large financial resources “for the implementation of large-scale investment projects allegedly aimed at improving the lives of Palestinians”.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also clarified that the leadership of Palestine refused to participate in the American "project."

“The persistent desire to replace the task of achieving a comprehensive political solution with a package of economic“ bonuses ”, blurring the principle of creating two states for two nations, is of deep concern,” the ministry added, stressing that this situation is about the US attempt to impose an “alternative vision” Palestinian-Israeli settlement.

In conclusion, they reaffirmed their commitment to Russia's position on the inadmissibility of a departure from the international legal framework for a Middle East settlement.

Earlier, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, at a meeting of the Security Council called on all countries to use diplomacy to solve the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

In April, Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas announced his readiness to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu without preliminary conditions, if it were held in Moscow.
