US presidential adviser Jared Kouchner will lead a delegation to a Middle East tour this week to rally support for the US Middle East peace plan, known as the "Century Deal," a White House official said.

Kouchner, US Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt, US special envoy to Iran Brian Hawk and assistant Kouchner Abe Berkowitz began their tour of the Moroccan capital Rabat and are scheduled to travel to the Jordanian capital of Amman and Jerusalem.

Kouchner will then meet with US President Donald Trump in London when the president visits Britain next week.

The tour is similar to that of Kouchner and Greenblatt in February for the Gulf states to rally support for the economic divide of the Middle East peace plan, which they are putting in place at Trump's request.

The visit comes at a time when Washington is preparing to hold an international conference in Bahrain on June 25 and 26 to discuss the economic aspects of the peace plan, which Washington intends to announce after the month of Ramadan.

During the conference, Kouchner is expected to unveil the first part of the Trump peace plan between Israel and the Palestinians.
