The left wing of the majority of Emmanuel Macron, whose influence has been reduced since the beginning of the five-year period, wants to recover after Europeans who have revealed a net strengthening of the Macronist electorate on the right and a beginning of exodus towards ecologists.

For Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, "this sensitivity of the left has not been sufficiently expressed and there are many expectations today in this regard". The former faithful of Francois Hollande, the only minister to have chained two quinquennies to the government, called on Tuesday to "build this sensitivity, to make its culture, its intentions, its proposals heard throughout the democratic force in constitution that supports Emmanuel Macron ".

If it remains about the level of the result of Emmanuel Macron in the first round of the presidential election of 2017, the score of the list Macronist European Sunday (22.41%) reflects indeed significant movements to the right in his electorate.

According to the polling institute Ipsos, more than a quarter (27%) of voters in François Fillon in 2017 have opted for Nathalie Loiseau's list. At the same time, nearly 30% of Emmanuel Macron's voters in April 2017 voted to the left, mostly in favor of Yannick Jadot's ecologist list.

"We still retain some of our original base, but we went from 1/3 right and 2/3 left to 2/3 right and 1/3 left", summarizes a LREM deputy from the left wing .

An electoral flip that accredits critics on a tendency to the right of the policy of the executive. "We are seen as the new UDF," worries a cadre of the majority, yet from the right.

"The right has chosen his champion and his champion is Emmanuel Macron", criticizes the boss of PS Olivier Faure.

During the parliamentary meeting LREM Tuesday, several deputies like Barbara Pompili, Anne-Christine Lang or Jacques Maire pleaded for a rebalancing towards the center left. LREM will have to "send signals" in this sense, said the deputy Aurélien Taché.

In its campaign strategy, the Macron camp hoped to contain this leak of part of its electorate to EELV, with a European program boosted by ecology. But the breakthrough of Yannick Jadot (13.5%) proved the main weak point in the strategy "catch-all" of the Head of State, despite the arrival on the list of ex-EELV as Pascal Canfin or Pascal Durand.

- "Act from the left"? -

"This is the part of the electorate that must be sought. We must be more voluntarist on the ecology," said a LREM deputy.

For several months now, leaders of the left wing of the majority have been thinking of a kind of "Left-wing action", equivalent in an indeterminate form of the center-right party that supports the majority, led by the Minister of Culture former LR Franck Riester.

An "airlock" or "aircraft carrier" for left-wing politicians determined to get closer to the majority, to which ex-PS ministers Didier Guillaume, Olivier Dussopt and Jean-Yves Le Drian are working. The latter founded in March a movement of the "Breton Progressives" which could foreshadow a national equivalent.

Mr. Le Drian, whose region Macron was clearly in the lead on Sunday, "has the legitimacy, the experience to do it.He carried a progressive and territorial message. He has the experience of political recomposition in Brittany and he is one of those who speak the most to the president by his functions, "greets a leader of the majority.

Paradox of this game of influences: the ex-socialists were the first nucleus of Emmanuel Macron's support when he was preparing his presidential candidacy, with young orphans of Dominique Strauss-Kahn like Benjamin Griveaux or Ismaël Emelien, or PS second knives become general in Macronie, like Richard Ferrand or Christophe Castaner.

But their influence was de facto reduced to the favor of the strategy of enlarging their champion: rallying centrists and MoDem François Bayrou, then after the election of defectors LR, led by Prime Minister Edouard Philippe .
