According to the prefecture of the Somme, 800 people were gathered in Amiens, one of the cities where the "yellow vests" had called to mobilize. The organizers counted for their part 2,000 participants, from Brittany, the Hauts-de-France or Paris region. Several personalities, such as the deputy of the Somme François Ruffin, the actor and former CGT delegate of Continental Xavier Mathieu, or the former Goodyear (CGT) Mickaël Wamen, were present.

The police were very present near the city center, forbidden to the demonstrators. At around 14:45, some people threw projectiles at a bank branch and the Carlton Hotel in the station area. The police dispersed them with tear gas. At 2 pm, the Prefecture of the Somme recorded 18 arrests in total, following preventive controls. Of these, two were held in custody for possession of offensive material.
