Stade Toulousain President Didier Lacroix officialized the replacement of William Servat by Virgile Lacombe as forward coach for next season, Saturday after the victory against Perpignan during the 26th day of Top 14 (47- 7).

"He's a Toulouse kid and a monster of generosity," said Didier Lacroix about Servat, who will join the staff of future French coach Fabien Galthie after the World Cup in Japan.

"Thank you, William, for all that you have done here, your departure is the best gift we could give the French team to prepare the 2023 World Cup in France," added the president.

William Servat, who played his last game in front of the Toulouse public, had formalized Friday his departure from Toulouse, where he remained 25 years, first as a player and then as a coach from 2012.

With Toulouse, the former international hooker (49 selections between 2004 and 2012) won five league titles in France and three European cups.

He will be replaced in his duties by Virgile Lacombe (34), also former hooker club, which will end his career at the end of his season with Lyon.

Jean Bouilhou, who was in charge of the sector of the touch this season, and who will join Montauban (Pro D2) to take care of the forwards next season, as well as the second line Piula Faasalele, leaving for Perpignan, and the Italian hooker Leonardo Ghiraldini were also hailed for their last in Toulouse.
