In Algeria, presidential candidates scheduled for July 4 have only a few hours to file their case. A poll still contested by the street. Yesterday several thousand Algerians protested for the 14th consecutive week across the country to ask, among other things, the cancellation of this election.

On Saturday night, a man, Lakhdar Benzahia, an army pensioner little known to the general public filed his case with the Constitutional Council. For the moment no other serious candidates have filed any records. More than 70 applications had been withdrawn upstream, the deadline to submit these files with the necessary sponsorships is tonight midnight.

It was also reported that Abdelaziz Belaid, president of the small Front Al-Moustaqbal party, announced that he was withdrawing from the presidential race. He explains his decision by the non-installation of the control of the election, but also the lack of competition, according to him, and the fact that there is no concrete dialogue as requested by the army.

It should also be noted that this election of July 4 is rejected by most demonstrators, especially by those who have demonstrated in numbers yesterday, and political figures who are concerned about the risk that an election rejected by the population could cause country.

Earlier in the day, Acting President Abdelkader Bensalah announced that he is appointing a new chief for state television, journalist Salim Rebahi, and a new leader for the state-owned electricity company Sonelgaz, but he does not has so far made no announcement regarding this election and a possible cancellation if there is no candidate.
