The head of a delegation of a private plane from Khartoum arrived in Cairo on Saturday evening for a two-hour visit to Egypt, during which he will meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

The delegation accompanying the demonstration includes 13 officials of the Sudanese military council and senior assistants of the proof, where the delegation will meet with a number of senior officials and personalities of Egypt along with President al-Sisi to review the latest developments on the Sudanese arena.

Al-Burhan's visit to Cairo is his first visit outside Sudan after he assumed the presidency of the military council, days before a general strike called by the Sudanese Professionals Gathering on Tuesday and Wednesday to demand the military council hand over power to civilians.

The Egyptian president held a consultative summit on the situation in Sudan in the presence of some African countries on April 23.

"The solution will be made by the Sudanese themselves, through a comprehensive and inclusive dialogue between the different political forces in Sudan, leading to a consensus political solution, a clear vision of the merits of this stage and leading to free and fair elections," Sisi said during the summit.

"We, as neighboring countries of Sudan and IGAD countries and as regional partners, look forward to helping and supporting the Sudanese people in order to achieve the stability and prosperity they seek and deserve."

Al-Burhan's visit to Cairo follows a visit to Saudi Arabia by Vice President Mohammed Hamdan Diklu, during which he met with Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, they discussed the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, as well as reviewing developments in the regional arena.
