A launch ceremony for a new serial universal atomic icebreaker “Ural”, Project 2220, took place at the Baltic Shipyard in St. Petersburg. The ship should be ready by 2022. The construction of the Arctic and Siberia icebreakers is also under way. Nuclear-powered ships will be able to provide wiring to ships in arctic conditions, punching ice up to 3 m thick.
