AFP: US Department of Justice has put forward 17 new charges against Assange
The United States Department of Justice launched 17 new charges against WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, AFP reports.

On April 11, Assange was detained on the territory of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London in connection with a request for extradition by the United States.
He is currently under arrest.
On May 7, Wikileaks editor-in-chief Kristinn Hrafnsson and American actress Pamela Anderson visited Julian Assange in the British prison Belmarsh.
