Media: The Pentagon intends to send up to 10 thousand military in the Middle East
The Pentagon intends to submit to the White House plans to send up to 10,000 US troops to the Middle East to repel a possible threat from Iran, the Associated Press reported, citing sources.
It is planned, among other things, to discuss the dispatch of additional weapons to the region, including the batteries of the Patriot missile system and ships.
It is noted that the final decision on this issue has not yet been made.
In addition, it is not known whether the Pentagon’s request will be approved at the White House.
At the same time, Reuters reported that the Pentagon is considering a request from the US Central Command to send an additional five thousand soldiers to the Middle East.
Earlier, Iran called on the United States to leave the Middle East.
