“We need to say that an unauthorized meeting, and even with actions that go against current laws, is not something that can be approved,” said Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

According to him, such an uncoordinated action is “this is what makes certain work of law enforcement agencies necessary.”

“In general, such situations are the prerogative of local authorities, and we see that they work,” added Peskov.

On May 13, a spontaneous protest was held in Yekaterinburg. Its participants demolished a temporary fence at the construction site of the cathedral and occupied the square.

On May 14, the second uncoordinated action took place. Regional authorities reported more than 20 detainees.
