The Russian leader noted that during a telephone conversation with US President Donald Trump, he had the impression that the American president is set to re-establish ties, contacts between the two countries and resolve issues of mutual interest jointly.
“We, for our part, have repeatedly said that we would also like to restore the relationship in full-scale, I hope that now the necessary conditions are being created for this,” he said TASS.
The president also stressed that despite the exotic nature of the work of the commission of US special prosecutor Robert Muller, an objective investigation was carried out and the absence of all sorts of traces and collusion between Russia and the Trump administration was confirmed. Putin noted that Moscow initially characterized such accusations as complete nonsense.
The talks between Putin and Pompeo began earlier in Sochi.
