He said this at a press conference following talks with Pompeo.

“I gave Michael an unofficial memorandum, non paper, as we used to say in English, which sets forth not fictional, but actual evidence of the United States intervention in the internal policy of the Russian Federation,” Lavrov noted.

He cited the example of a law passed by the US Congress, which “entrusts the US Secretary of State to promote democracy in Russia directly and through work with Russian non-governmental organizations; $ 20 million is allocated for such purposes annually.”

Lavrov added that the Russian side is in favor of resolving problems in bilateral relations, as well as for the diplomats in the two countries to work “transparently, openly and not create sensations from the other side that someone is going to influence the internal political processes” .

Lavrov also discussed with Pompeo the possibility of meeting the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.
