“The judges of the Constitutional Court voted for Shevchuk’s resignation ... The new head is Shaptal,” the agency’s source said.

At the same time, “Ukrainian News” reported that members of the court expressed no confidence in the chairman and voted for his dismissal.

It is noted that 12 judges voted for Shevchuk’s resignation, which is the minimum necessary requirement for a decision.

In turn, Shevchuk called the incident “an anti-constitutional coup” and blamed the current president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko.

“Of course, behind this crime is Poroshenko’s main beneficiary, who is making every effort to retain power by maintaining control over the main state institutions,” he wrote on his Facebook page.

Shevchuk threatened to file a statement with the court and law enforcement agencies.

Earlier Poroshenko dismissed the commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Yuriy Allerov.
