Former US Congressman Anthony Weiner has completely served his sentence. Three months ago, Weiner was first transferred from prison to a rehabilitation center and released from custody, according to CNN.

Weiner was sentenced to imprisonment in 2017 for sexually molesting hundreds of women with obscene messages and penis photos. Among the victims in the sexting scandal was also a 15-year-old, who should have asked Weiner, undress in front of the camera. Weiner had confessed to the crime and pleaded guilty.

"It's nice to be out," Weiner now told CNN. He was glad that "this chapter of his life lies behind him". On the other hand, it is uncertain how Weiner could progress on the job.

The scandal had ended the career of the politician abruptly and also influenced the then US presidential election campaign. As part of the investigation, the laptop Weiners and his ex-wife Huma Abedin had been confiscated. It had also e-mails to the presidential candidate Hillary Clinton surfaced, to the Abedin maintained close contact.

In the past, Weiner had also run for the post of mayor of the city of New York. The project, however, he had given up then, after he already had to grant another, more recent virtual infidelity. Agedin finally had separated from Weiner.
