Delegation of the Russian Ministry of Defense held talks in Sweden

This informs RIA Novosti with reference to the message of the Russian defense ministry.

“At the initiative of the Swedish side, as the current chairman of the Nordic defense cooperation format (NORDEFCO), the Russian delegation held talks in Stockholm with representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Swedish armed forces,” the Defense Ministry said.

It is noted that the Swedish side held a briefing on what the current tasks of the NORDEFCO format are. It was also announced plans to conduct exercises "Arctic Challenge - 2019" in Sweden, Norway and Finland. The exercise will be held in May-June 2019.

Earlier, a detachment of ships of the Northern Fleet en route to the Norwegian Sea on the way to the basing point.
