A delegation from the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Palestine (SPLM) arrived in Khartoum in the first visit of its kind in years, at a time when Sudan's political future is being shaped in the post-Omar al-Bashir era.

The movement was one of the two factions of the SPLM, the North Sector, and was carrying arms against the former regime in the areas of South Kordofan and Blue Nile, one of the components of the Revolutionary Front affiliated with the Sudan Appeal Alliance, one of the components of the Declaration of the Forces of Freedom, which leads the popular movement. And the other faction led by Abdul Aziz al-Helu.

The movement's delegation is led by its spokesman Mubarak Ardual. The movement announced that a senior delegation headed by Yasser Arman, its vice president, will arrive in the country next week.

Erdogan, who led the delegation of returnees after an absence of more than eight years, declared the end of the war with the center and the involvement of the northern sector in the change project advocated by the Sudanese revolution.

The returnees from the SPLM - who were formerly part of SPLM forces in southern Sudan and took up arms against the former regime after the secession of the South in 2011 - including those who were sentenced to death in absentia, should they return before, in this revolutionary situation that is happening in Sudan?

The delegation arrived immediately after arriving in Khartoum with crowds of protesters before the army leadership. Erdogan announced that the SPLM-North will operate with two wings, one led by the movement's president Malik Aqar, while the other will lead the peaceful movement led by Arman, the movement's deputy chairman and its secretary-general Ismail Khamis Jalab.
