Abdullah Mohammed-Khartoum

A delegation from the Popular Movement for the Liberation of Palestine (SPLM) arrived in Khartoum in the first visit of its kind in years, at a time when Sudan's political future is being shaped in the post-Omar al-Bashir era.

The movement was one of the two factions of the SPLM, the North Sector, and was carrying arms against the former regime in the areas of South Kordofan and Blue Nile, one of the components of the Revolutionary Front affiliated with the Sudan Appeal Alliance, one of the components of the Declaration of the Forces of Freedom, which leads the popular movement. And the other faction led by Abdul Aziz al-Helu.

The movement's delegation is led by its spokesman Mubarak Ardual. The movement announced that a senior delegation headed by Yasser Arman, its vice president, will arrive in the country next week.

Erdogan, who led the delegation of returnees after an absence of more than eight years, declared the end of the war with the center and the involvement of the northern sector in the change project advocated by the Sudanese revolution.

Judgments
The returnees from the SPLM - who were formerly part of SPLM forces in southern Sudan and took up arms against the former regime after the secession of the South in 2011 - including those who were sentenced to death in absentia, should they return before, in this revolutionary situation that is happening in Sudan?

Academic and researcher d. Mohammed Jalal Hashim says in his answer to the question of Al Jazeera Net that the military council in its current structure did not issue a decision to pardon the arms campaign, because the issuance of such a decision means the release of the tribal leader in Darfur Musa Hilal, head of the Awakening Military Council detained since November 2017 by the forces The rapid support led by Lieutenant General Mohammad Hamdan Dalu "Hamidati" Vice President of the Transitional Military Council.

Describes Dr. Hisham Awda leaders of the northern sector in this circumstance as a rush indicates that the Arman group property does not have a military force in the field.

Plans for intervention
The researcher added to Al Jazeera Net that the visit of the leadership of the movement of the UAE gives clear signals that their return to the interior linked to the scheme to intervene in the Sudanese issue, led by the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Egypt.

The human rights activist d. Nabil Adib of the possibility of judicial arrest of leaders of the northern sector, saying that Arman, for example, is sentenced in absentia, and is supposed to return on his return to trial, but in the prevailing atmosphere now - aimed at achieving peace - is not expected to prosecute.

In the opinion of Dr. Adib in the return of Arman to Khartoum in addition to the democratic experience and the forces of the revolution. On the difficulties that may hinder the movement's activity inside, he says that splitting the movement into two factions will negatively affect its military activity, but this situation may be a motive for the movement's transformation of the entire political activity peacefully.

An important faction
Dr.. Abdul Nabi al-Tayeb al-Nubi, a professor of journalism at the University of the Nile Valley stresses that the SPLM is an important faction in the equation of war and peace in Sudan, and that the return of one of its wings inside the support of the process of democratic transformation.

It is noteworthy that the return of the northern sector after the removal of Bashir from power as a correction to the position of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (the mother) in the anti-military council led by Marshal Abdul Rahman Sawar gold after the uprising against the regime of former President Jaafar Nimeiri in 1985.

On the political future of Arman as the most prominent northern faces that joined the armed action of the SPLM, Nubian says that Arman stood in many battles during which to distort and assassinate the personality, perhaps because of his traditional hostility with the Islamists.

The professor adds that Arman's long political experience has enabled him to be a skilled negotiator and a rhetorical potentialist, and this in itself - and to say to the newbies - has earned him many enemies inside and outside the SPLM.

Negative role
For his part, Engineer Omar Bakri Abu Haraz (former president of the House of Engineer) fears that the return of the leaders of the People's Movement negatively reflected on the field of revolution, when added to the burden of the northern sector and its differences with many parties.

Abu Haraz predicts that the scene will be mixed with the return of the returnees, unless they put their hands together with the gathering of professionals and work within it as a single political bloc.

The delegation arrived immediately after arriving in Khartoum with crowds of protesters before the army leadership. Erdogan announced that the SPLM-North will operate with two wings, one led by the movement's president Malik Aqar, while the other will lead the peaceful movement led by Arman, the movement's deputy chairman and its secretary-general Ismail Khamis Jalab.
