The deadline for the constitutional council in Mauritania to submit files for candidacy in the upcoming presidential elections in June is over.

Six candidates succeeded in presenting their files officially, while others were unable to submit their files after they announced their candidacy in popular festivals, because they did not receive the required qualifications.

The Constitutional Council, in the file of candidacy, requires a certificate of Tabriz and the recommendation of one hundred local councilors, including five mayors (heads of local councils). The candidates who filed their candidacy files for the future presidents are:

Mohamed Ould El Ghazouani
Mohammed Ould Cheikh Mohamed Ahmed El Ghazzouani, the first contestant to announce the candidacy, the first of which submitted his file to the Constitutional Council on the reception of candidacy files and the announcement of the preliminary list and final.

Ghazzouani was a team and commander of the Mauritanian armies and a former defense minister, a close friend of current President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz, and was his partner in the overthrow of President-elect Sidi Mohamed Ould Cheikh Abdellahi in 2008, and was a member of the military council that ousted former President Maaouya Ould Sidi Ahmed Taya In 2005.

In his race for presidency, Ould Ghazouani relies on the forces of the regime, the majority parties, a number of traditional forces, some of the opposition figures who joined him, and a group of businessmen, one of the most prominent candidates for winning the presidential elections.

Sidi Mohamed Ould Boubaker
A prominent figure in the list of opposition candidates, Sidi Mohamed Ould Boubaker, a former prime minister and diplomat, took over as prime minister for the first time in the early 1990s during the reign of former President Maaouya Ould Taya. He returned to the same post again, After the overthrow of Bold Taya in 2005, and remained in office until the end of the transitional period in 2007.

The candidate of the regime depends on the support of the National Rally for Reform and Development Party (TASR), which has an Islamic background, and some other opposition factions, including Hatem's party, led by Saleh Ould Hananeh, as well as independent figures and some youth movements.

Observers believe that Ould Boubakr could narrow the noose to the candidate of the regime, Ould El-Ghazouani, and may be able to reach a second step with him.

Pyram Ould Ebeidi
The president of the Ira movement, Biram Ould Dahab Obeidi, was the third candidate to present his file to the Constitutional Council. He belongs to Obeidi of the former Herut faction. He ran in 2014 against Ould Abdel Aziz in elections boycotted by the opposition. And integrity.

Ould Obeidi is participating in the elections this time for an alliance between his movement, Ira and the right-wing party, the Baathist background, which is the same coalition that has reached the parliament.

During the past years, he was imprisoned more than once, because of issues he considers to be his defense of slavery, while the regime considers that it was caused by the burning of the mothers of the jurisprudential books once, and the attempt to sow strife between the components of the Mauritanian people again, and his supporters say that his imprisonment more than Once around him to a political icon and increased his presence, especially among his segment.

Mohamed Ould Mouloud
The fourth candidate is left-wing leader Mohamed Ould Mouloud, a university professor and politician who opposes all regimes that followed Mauritania's ruling. The Progressive Forces Party, headed by the left-leaning party, is supported by an opposition coalition, the most important of which is the party of the Union of Democratic Forces led by Ahmed Ould Daddah.

This is not the first time that Mr Mouloud has been in the presidential race. He ran for president in 2007 and received less than 5% of the vote.

Al Murtaji Ould Al Wafi
Born in the National School of Administration, Journalism and Judiciary in 2014, Al-Murtaji Ould El-Wafi, a candidate for the presidency of Mauritania, is the youngest candidate for the elections. He is currently working in the Ministry of Economy and Finance and is a candidate for youth.

He was a Baba Hamido

The Negro cases are strong in the speech of the candidate Hamidou Baba, who had previously been a member of parliament, had previously run in a presidential election and aspired to achieve a good result with the votes of black nationalities.

Political alliances
The regime is keen to have all the parties supporting it, in the ranks of its candidate Mohamed Ould Ghazzouani, in addition to the traditional forces, such as tribal sheikhs and Sufi roads, and opposition parties joined five of the six candidates.

According to Professor Didi Ould Salek, the results of these political alliances remain uncertain, under the control of the supporters of the regime to the Independent Electoral Commission, and in the absence of representation of the opposition.

If the elections are transparent and the authorities do not fraud, there could be a second round, given the presence of serious candidates and a significant political and public presence, Ould Salik said.

Community considerations
The opinion of the Mauritanian society differs from the six main candidates for the elections, according to their ideological, spatial and tribal views. On this basis, each team is aligned behind a particular candidate without paying attention to the programs.

The writer Al Wali Ould Sidi Haiba told Al Jazeera Net that the nomadic dimension was present in the campaign of the candidates Biram Daha A'baidi and Hamidi Baba. He considers that Mawdoul's candidate is a candidate for opposing the regimes and bias towards the marginalized, while many consider the candidate Ould Boubaker to be a salvation for the homeland. Of the current provision, especially as a former political and administrative was part of the former regime.

However, many also tend to support the candidate supported by the regime, Mohamed Ould El Ghazouani.

Ould Salek owes the loyalty of many people to the candidate of the regime to the mentality of peoples who suffer from ignorance and do not take sides in programs. He describes this situation as the voluntary slavery of regimes, despite the suffering of the people from marginalization and poverty.

It is expected that the Constitutional Council will announce the final list of candidates for the presidential elections, an election that is supposed to hand over current President Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz the power to an elected president. Analysts say the move could be the beginning of a democratic process in the country, far from the coups suffered by Mauritania.
