"Egypt strongly condemns the fact that four ships were subjected to sabotage in the territorial waters of the United Arab Emirates, as well as a violation of the national security of the United Arab Emirates and all their land and sea borders," a statement published on Egypt’s Foreign Affairs Ministry Facebook page said
Earlier, the UAE said that four commercial cargo ships became targets of sabotage near the country's territorial waters in the Gulf of Oman east of the Emirate of Fujairah.
It was noted that the authorities took all necessary measures, the investigation of incidents is conducted jointly with local and international bodies.
