Sudan's prison chief denied on Sunday the release of Bashir al-Bashir, the brother of ousted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, because he was not originally detained.

"We did not release Abbas, the brother of the deposed president because he did not come to us at all," he told Al-Arabiya.

This came after reports that the prison administration in Khartoum gave permission to Bashir al-Bashir, brother of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, to leave the prison where he was present for nearly two weeks, and then traveled to Turkey.

Sources told al-Arabiya that Omar al-Bashir and his brother Abdullah are currently only in Cooper's prison, in addition to the husband of their sister, who was also arrested along with some symbols of the former regime.

The NTC had previously announced that Abdullah and Abbas were in Cooper, but that the latter had received official permission to leave the prison.

Earlier, local media reported the escape of Abbas al-Bashir, the brother of ousted Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir. According to the Sudanese daily "The Next Day," Abbas escaped from prison to Turkey.
