A source from the family of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir said that the family assigned four lawyers, including former parliament speaker Ahmed Ibrahim al-Tahir and former defense ministers Abdulbaset Sabdrat and Omar Abdelati, to take over the defense of the isolated president before the Public Prosecution and the Court in case of referral.

For its part, the newspaper "Sudanese" that about 50 lawyers have shown their readiness to defend Bashir.

The Sudan prosecutor's office is conducting preliminary investigations with al-Bashir on charges related to money laundering and possession of foreign currencies.

The source added that the prosecution questioned the deposed president Thursday in the absence of defense lawyers, and justified the step as preliminary investigations to evaluate the evidence available and then to decide whether or not to open the case and open the door to defense lawyers.

The Sudanese newspaper Al-Jarida reported in its Saturday edition that al-Bashir had admitted the charges brought against him by the Public Prosecutor's Office on corruption and revealed the names of those involved in these cases.

The newspaper quoted what it described as a reliable source as saying that al-Bashir had revealed names related to the case that the prosecution is investigating, and divided between witnesses and criminal participation.

On the other hand, local media reported the escape of Abbas al-Bashir, brother of the Sudanese president isolated. The newspaper "The Next Day" in the Sudanese edition yesterday, that Abbas escaped from prison to Turkey.

Abbas was arrested days after the fall of his brother's regime, when he was planning to flee to Turkey.

On April 17, the Transitional Military Council announced the arrest of two brothers, al-Bashir (Abdullah and Abbas) and a number of former regime figures accused of corruption.

The spokesman of the Transitional Military Council, Lieutenant General Shamseddine Kabbashi, at the time, that the arrests are underway «for the symbols of the ousted regime, and about them are suspected of corruption and other symbols of the regime», pointing out that «my brother was arrested Bashir, Abdullah and Abbas».

He pointed out that the search is still underway for many of the names required «disappeared».
