Abdullah Rashed Al Nuaimi, the father of the UAE young woman, Rawda, who suffered a medical error during her surgery at the First Med Medical Center for Daily Surgery, said that Dubai police turned his daughter's case to the Public Prosecution. Awaiting the final report of the committee set up by the Health Authority in Dubai to make sure that Rawda was neglected, to be presented in the case papers.

The father told Emirates Al-Youm that he had previously filed a complaint with the Dubai Police on April 26 accusing the doctors and the medical center of causing damage to his daughter's brain cells, which left her unable to move, to speak, to look, Coma, as a result of her heart stopping throbbing for about seven minutes.

He said that doctors from the body visited the kindergarten, yesterday, to follow up the state of health, and to see the developments.

The agency has decided to stop operations at the First Med Medical Center for daily surgery until the final results of the investigation into the negligence of the UAE young woman and her coma. The two doctors suspected of being responsible for the incident, nose, ear and throat specialists and an anesthesiologist, were also suspended.

In response to the incident, the Commission has threatened to take deterrent legal action against anyone who would endanger the health and lives of patients.

The case of Rawda comes back to April 23, after she went for a minor nose operation to treat breathing problems at the medical center in the Jumeirah area, but it has sunk into a coma since that day (19 days). She was admitted to the operating room at 10 am and did not leave. More than four hours later, her parents felt a problem doctors were trying to hide from them, but they could not tell what was going on in the operating room.

She is a graduate of the University of Dubai's Department of Hospital Management and an employee of the Government of Sharjah. She had a Bachelor of Science in Genetics and was known for her scientific and academic excellence.
