Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on Tuesday that all military leaders in the country have declared their full loyalty to the Constitution and the country, expressing confidence in victory after the opposition and military elements called for the overthrow of his government. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Washington supports the "military uprising" against Maduro.

Maduro said in a tweet through his Twitter account that he spoke with military leaders and showed full loyalty, calling on his supporters to rally until victory in the face of the recent attempt by opposition leader Juan Guido to take power.

Earlier Tuesday, Guido appeared in a video clip alongside heavily armed soldiers calling on Venezuelans to take to the streets and overthrow President Nicolas Maduro.

Guido, who declared himself the transitional president of Venezuela, said earlier in the day that the "final stage" in the plan to overthrow Maduro had begun, and was accompanied by opposition leader Leopoldo Lopez, at an air base in Caracas.

Last stage
"The people of Venezuela have begun to end the usurpation of power," Guido said on Twitter. "At this moment, I meet with the main military units of our armed forces, and the last phase of Operation Freedom begins."

"As interim President of Venezuela and as the supreme commander of the armed forces, I call on all soldiers to join us," Guaydou said at the La Carlotta Air Base in Caracas and called on his supporters to rally there.

Following that, Maduro's deputy, Minister of Communications and Information Jorge Rodriguez, announced that a small group of the military associated with the opposition is trying to carry out a coup, stressing that efforts are continuing to thwart this attempt.

Western media said Venezuelan security forces fired tear gas at Guido as he and several men in uniform were standing near an air force base in Caracas.

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Ariisa accused Colombia of helping the opposition in the "coup attempt" on Tuesday.

"We condemn the support provided by the Colombian authorities for the new coup attempt in Venezuela," Ariisa wrote in a tweet on Twitter.

Feedback and support
In the context of international reactions, US national security adviser John Bolton has urged the Venezuelan army for what it called the protection of the country's constitution.

For his part, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said in a tweet on Twitter that Washington fully supports the Venezuelan people in their quest for democracy and freedom, following the process announced by Guido, who described Pompeo as interim president.

Pompeo added that the administration of President Donald Trump supports Guido's call for a military uprising against Maduro.

On the other hand, Venezuelan Defense Minister Vladimir Padrinho confirmed the Venezuelan army's presence along with the Constitution and its legitimate authorities. He added in a tweet on Twitter that all the military units deployed in the eight integrated defense zones are reporting a normal situation in their barracks and military bases under the leadership of their legal leaders.

Badrino said in a further tweet that the Venezuelan army rejects the coup movement aimed at filling the country with violence, pointing out that the so-called political leaders - as he put it - who put themselves at the forefront of this destructive movement, used the army and police forces armed equipment on the highway in the city, To raise concern and terrorism.

Both Cuba and Bolivia announced their support for the coup attempt by a group of military personnel linked to the opposition.
