It's been three months to the day that Juan Guaido was sworn in as interim president in front of a crowd of supporters. But today nothing has really changed: there are still two presidents in Venezuela, but it is still Nicolas Maduro who holds the power. In addition, the country's situation is worsening with the power cuts that are increasing. Demonstrations are not as provided until the beginning of the movement. Yet the opponents assure: their hope and determination are flawless.

With our correspondent in Caracas, Benjamin Delille

Since early March and the first major power cuts , each opposition gathering attracts fewer and fewer people.

But according to Suleima, tri-colored cap screwed on the skull, this does not mean that his compatriots are resigned. " This government is starving Venezuelans. If people do not go to work, they do not eat anymore. So, we can not attend all the demonstrations, all the convocations, because we must survive. But as soon as we can do it, we do it . "

Hector, a fierce opponent, points out that even if Nicolas Maduro is still in power, the opposition has strengthened in three months. " Especially with the international recognition or the series of US pressure against Venezuela that is starting to take effect. So, we keep hope, because we want a change. "

Even if the situation seems to get bogged down, José believes that the protest must continue in the street, peacefully, to avoid a rapid but violent transition. " We must not take up arms as they did against us. What we want is to be able to choose our governments legally. "

All still secretly hope that US sanctions will eventually convince the military to join them . And in the meantime, they will continue to demonstrate, again and again.

The next demonstration of the opposition is scheduled for May 1st. When he announced it last Friday , Juan Guaido assured that it would be " the greatest manifestation of the history of Venezuela ".
