According to the prosecutor's office, the gunfire that hit the Toulouse magistrate's vehicle in the night was trying to "reach people who would have protected themselves behind the vehicle".

The magistrate of Toulouse whose vehicle had been hit by several bullets, on the night of Wednesday to Thursday, near the city center, was not "a priori" the target of the shots, according to the first elements of the investigation which is moving towards the track of a conflict between several individuals.

According to a statement, released Friday, the prosecutor of the Republic of Toulouse, Dominique Alzeari, the elements collected in the context of the investigation "do not allow to objectify at this stage the hypothesis of an act a priori a magistrate assigned to the floor of the TGI of Toulouse ".

Probable settling of accounts

The investigation, "supported by testimonies", would turn towards the hypothesis of "gunfire" seeking "to reach people who would then have protected themselves behind the parked vehicle" of the magistrate, says the communicated.

These shots would be "attributable to one or more individuals". The magistrate had noticed "several bullet holes" on her vehicle, parked near the city center of Toulouse in a private setting. A complaint had been filed. The shooting had not caused any casualties.
